Winemaker: Erinn Klein

Grape(s): Pink Semillon

GI: Adelaide Hills (Mount Lofty Ranges, South Australia)

Site(s): Ngeringa Rufus

Vineyard notes: Ngeringa's three vineyard sites total five hectares and are on easterly and westerly aspects at the base of Mount Barker Summit. They are part of a biodiverse, 75-hectare biodynamic farm on the south-eastern edge of the Adelaide Hills. Mount Barker Summit defines these sites, ranging from 330 to 420 meters of elevation. Our vineyard soils are loam over clay, with varying influences of ironstone and micaceous schist. Ngeringa has been certified biodynamic since the 1980's with no chemical sprays, fertilizers or insecticides applied. Our Pink Semillon comes exclusively from 4 rows planted on our Summit Vineyard.

Winemaking: Hand-harvested grapes were destemmed into larger bins where the must remained on skins for three four days at cool temperatures to prevent fermentation from commencing. This time on skins increased flavour, colour and phenolic texture. The must was then pressed, and the juice was put into older French oak barriques for fermentation and maturation for 5 months before bottling in September 2026. No enzymes, no fining, no filtration, just a small dose of sulphur just before bottling.

Tasting notes: A textural rosé made from Pink Semillon fruit, showcasing flavours of peach, rockmelon and a hint of curry leaf spice. The chewy, marshmallow phenolic texture is perfectly paired with Spring dishes.

Closure: Stelvin screw cap

ABV: 13.5%
